RESUME: SANDRA CORPORA |
|
Artist’s Statement
The landscapes in this exhibition are motifs found
in Italy and Pennsylvania. Each landscape location
has a particular attraction and the challenge lies
in making the painting feel authentic to that. In
each location I was attracted by the specific light,
color and shapes unique to those places. Those elements
were created by the roll of the land, or time of
day, or the atmosphere that sharpened or softened
the colors. The still life paintings were mostly
inspired by the harvest of fruit, flowers and vegetables
grown in our garden. Being able to watch these subjects
grow and mature gave me a connection with them and
an anticipation of what I wanted to convey in painting
them.
About the Artist

with the award for top fine arts graduate. She worked
as an art teacher, creative director and home designer
before starting to paint full time. Since then, she
has received numerous painting awards and has exhibited
in many juried shows. She has received commissions
for landscapes and portraits. Ms. Corpora maintains
her studio in historic Bethlehem and paints on location
in the US, Canada and Europe. Her paintings are in
